Description: La capa cartográfica de los ecosistemas del fondo marino de Providencia y Santa Catalina, describe los ecosistemas con base en unidades bióticas haciendo énfasis en las especies o asociaciones de especies de corales pétreos mas representativas.También incluye información de otros organismos bentónicos pero a nivel general. El nivel 1 es el mas detallado y además es el nivel de la leyenda oficialdel presente producto cartográfico. El nivél 4 agrupa a todas las unidades de octocorales, corales pétreos y de macroalgas sobre escombros coralinos en una sola unidad. De esta manera el nivél 4 de la clasificaciónse refiere a los tipos generales de coberturas siendo las siguientes: Fondos coralinos(Macroalgas sobre fondos duros, octocorales, esponjas y corales duros), Pradera de macroalgas, Asociaciones de pastos marinos,Sedimentos bioturbado,sCascajo y Roca coralina-Arena.
